Member Spotlight - May 2006

She’s cute, she’s talented and she keeps a very tight hold on the purse strings of NKAIW’S bank account. Michelle Roberts was just recently re-elected to her second term as the custodian of funds for our association.

Michelle was born in Orlando, Florida; her family transferred to Arizona when she was 5 months old and when she was 7 years old her family moved to California. Michelle was somewhat of a Valley Girl until 1989 when she moved back to Kentucky and later married Scott Roberts. They have a beautiful daughter named Logan and live in Florence.

Michelle started her insurance career in 1989 at Associates Insurance, which was located in Crescent Spring KY. In 1997 Michelle joined the Roeding Group Companies as an Account Specialist working with medium to large commercial accounts.

In 2004 she passed the exam to get her agents license. She also helps train the new employees on company procedures as well as traveling to other Roeding agencies to help train those employees. She had quite a hand in the implementing of Roeding’s Procedure Manuel as well as the e-filing system. She is basically the “go to” person for computer procedures.

Michelle became a member of NKAIW in 1998. Michelle is a little on the quiet side and does not like to be in any kind of spotlight but would rather stay in “behind the scenes” area. Yet she has never refused to do whatever she can for our association.

On several occasions she has been lured out in front and has always done an outstanding job. She has held several offices and served on numerous committees. She served on the registration committee for the 2002 Regional Conference in Covington and was on several fund-raisers for the conference. At our networking weekend in 2005 Michelle did a terrific job as the MC for the Family Feud game and then had everybody laughing their heads off as she lead us in the Chicken Dance (which happens to be one of her private family jokes) so I won’t go into that.

She’s vivacious, intelligent and always willing to give a hand when one is needed. Her passion in life is working with children. She is a devoted Wife, Mother, Soccer Mom, Girl Scout Leader, avid karate observer and an American Idol “freak”.
